Lent has been a really busy time for us at St Martin’s and the Ascension as well as our regular weekly worship there has been opportunities to focus on the Lenten theme of ‘prayer’ with silent adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and Stations of the Cross. Our Families @ 5 last month focused on Holy Week  and Easter the youngsters making hand held crosses, Easter gardens and decorating biscuits.

Our annual parish meeting was also held in Lent and this year on a Sunday for the first time. Following the formal elections we had an informal time of celebration! Giving thanks to all the officers and people who work so hard for our parish and celebrating the many good things we do in Jesus name and, we pray, to the furtherance of his Kingdom.

The organ appeal is going well. Fred’s Quizzes have made 0ver £750, well done Fred and the crafts over £200, well done to the craft group. Through the generosity of individuals and groups and the grant the fund stands now at over £12,000.00. fantastic! The new organ is hopefully to be installed in early June. watch this space.

Easter is now only days away, let our prayer be that we will faithfully and courageously follow him who loves us and died for us, Jesus our saviour and redeemer.  Fr Damian
