Last Sunday was a wonderful day of pre-Christmas fellowship. During the Family Mass at 11am our very own Junior Church presented their annual Christmas Drama, ably organised by Cheri it was another great success. The kids were fantastic. The play was a take on the ‘12 Days of Christmas’; it started with the Christ Child, three wise men…. and ended with a hoard of busy shoppers, ten TV shows….! Until the choristers said STOP. The play drew our attention back to the real meaning of Christmas, Christ’s birth.

Later on in the day mince pies started to arrive, mulled wine was brewed and Tony, our organist, and members of the local brass band warmed up for a 6.30pm start to our Carols by Candlelight. Thank you to all who helped with readings, lead music and serve refreshments. It was very much appreciated by the 240 people who came to sing heartily and listen to the story of Christmas in scripture and prose. Truly it was a wonderful evening and a fitting start to our celebrations this Holy Tide.
