The Friends of St Francis is a pastoral prayer group that also has a commitment to helping with the pastoral work of the parish. The group was only founded earlier this year but has already been a great blessing and we are together finding ways we can, in the spirit of St Francis of Assisi, stretch our arms of love to those in need, especially the sick and housebound locally. Members of the group make a commitment to a very simple ‘rule’ as set out below. If you are interested in joining us please contact David Wilde, our Lay Reader or Fr Damian (se contacts for details) Below is a list of dates for our meetings, again contact Fr Damian or David if you would like to come along for a ‘taster’, you are very welcome.

Our Rule
As a group we make a commitment-

 To pray for fellow Friends of St Francis.
 To pray for the needy, sick, dying and departed, the needs of our nation and the needs of the world.
 To saying the Prayer of St Francis regularly and always on Monday evenings before bed.
 To attending our monthly meetings and making them a priority in our lives and in respect for fellow members of the Friends.
 To have a presence in the parish, helping in practical ways with the pastoral work.
