A big thank you to the many people who helped in so many ways over the Christmas season, from flowers to cleaning, mince pies and music, all your efforts and hard work are very much appreciated. As we noted on the Weekly Bulletin, the Junior Church drama was simply FANTASTIC. A huge thanks to Carolyn, Ceri and the team for all their hard work and to the cast, well done. Above is a picture of 2013’s crib scene (before the day that’s why Our Lord is missing!)
The Carol Service was a great success with a very full church singing lustily and accompanied by Tony our organist and members from Morecambe bay Brass Band. It was great to see many new faces and visitors home for Christmas. Thanks to all who read and led the service so well.
The Midnight Eucharist of the Nativity is always a magical service. The atmosphere was quite moving as surrounded by candles we gathered to celebrate that indeed ‘Love came down at Christmas, Love all lovely, Love Divine!’. Following Holy Communion the Christ Child was processed to the crib and the crib blessed.
The New Year started in a fitting way with a Concelebrated Sung Eucharist at 12noon with prayers for the New Year, using our new Mission Prayer for this focused year of mission, and was followed by a lunch party at the Vicarage which we all enjoyed. Thanks again to all who came and those who helped with the catering.
